Special activities day with the TSG Balingen U9 soccer players

Bizerba is committed to supporting youngsters in the region, both as a premium sponsoring partner of TSG Balingen and as part of TSG's youth development program. On an eventful special activities day organized as part of the sponsorship, eight children from the U9 team spent a day exploring Bizerba – naturally, they were also encouraged to try out the different activities for themselves.

The TSG Balingen U9 team and their coach Armin Fecker and the TSG youth coordinator Henry Seeger visited Bizerba at the end of November. Bizerba educators and trainees worked together to create a variety-packed program for the young athletes. The goal was to introduce the young sports visitors to the company and its various activities. In describing the team's motivation, Alexander Burghardt, Head of Vocational Training at Bizerba, says: "As a local company, the youngsters were of course already familiar with Bizerba. We also wanted to offer them an exciting day with practical insights into everyday life at Bizerba as part of the special activities day. And of course, we are really thrilled to be able to inspire them with technical topics and professions in a playful way."

How much does a soccer team weigh?

The boys were able to get an idea of the activities undertaken here on any given day at two different stations at the site in Balingen. The first thing in the production plant was the issue of packages. What experiences have the eight-year-olds had with them so far? (Christmas!) And what happens with the packages at Bizerba when they are weighed? The Bizerba team explained the processes in Production in easy-to-understand terms. After that, not only was each child allowed to stand on the floor scale ridges, but the entire team was weighed. Ultimately, everyone was given the chance to guess how much they collectively weighed on the scale. So, how much does a U9 team weigh? An impressive 250 kg – with all eight boys, excluding the coaches, of course. Afterwards, they enjoyed some delicious snacks. The children were taught about the labeling processes: In Production, all participants were given gummy bears with a special TSG-U9 label that afternoon.

mThe kids enjoyed soldering their own LED Christmas trees

Soldering is one of the activities that is repeatedly undertaken in various departments at Bizerba. For example, in printed circuit board production, when making repairs in Service and in the R&D areas. As a second station, the boys from the soccer team were given an introduction in soldering electronic parts in the Bizerba training workshop. Each of them was partnered with a trainee, so they not only had the opportunity to learn about the vocational training program for electronics technicians for devices and systems, but they were also able to practice hands-on. In tune with the Season, after a brief introduction, they were given the task to solder an LED Christmas tree on their own. As a result, eight small, flashing Christmas trees were made. In the end, each one of the boys were allowed to take their trees home with them as a souvenir. As such, the special activities day came to a festive close.

Sponsoring & promoting young talent – a win-win situation

The sponsoring special activities day at Bizerba offered valuable impressions and insights into the family business, and not just for the young U9 soccer players. Likewise, the support of the TSG Juniors Team is of great importance to Bizerba CEO and shareholder Andreas W. Kraut. Developing young talent is not just about promoting soccer skills, but also about developing the personality of the individual, in addition to a long-term team development while promoting talent from the region. Keep it up, TSG Balingen! And of course, U9, good luck for the future!

I'm really pleased to be able to greet the TSG U9 team today at Bizerba. In my role as a promoter of young talent, I am personally very committed to supporting youth work. TSG Balingen, with its many coaches, helpers and supporters across the region, is an absolute flagship club.
