How innovation creates sustainability

For us at the Bizerba Group, these two future topics fit together excellently: Connected Retail and Sustainability. Why is this the case? 

We are undoubtedly one of the leading digital innovators in the industry. Bizerba has also been a family business for 5 generations. The Kraut family, in their position as owners, started to think and act long-term from an early stage. And above all: taking on responsibility outside the company. Corporate Social Responsibility is firmly anchored in our company's mission statement.

Connected Retail has a green dimension at Bizerba. We also pass this on to the industry with our IoT compatible solutions. An example is the topic Food Waste: When we handle this together, then it's a positive step towards sustainability. For everyone.

In Germany alone, 800,000 tonnes of food from food retailers ended up as waste in 2020. Truly unbelievable elimination of useful raw materials and energy. What does the solution look like?

One solution is to produce baked goods as required on a just in time basis at bakery stations and sell these dynamically. This is not a vision. Bizerba Smart Shelf is doing this already.
